Cities, communities, associations, clubs, schools, churches, youth groups, citizens, etc. This Community Can Program is about building pride in our communities. Here is how we are helping build pride.

First:

by creating visually appealing garbage cans that help keep our neighborhoods clean.

Second:

by creating visually appealing cans for inside schools and buildings. the cans will be used to collect useful items that will be given back to the community.

Cans are used in other communities and areas of the world to help beautify the community and better direct people to a garbage can by making it more visible.  Painting garbage cans is bringing beauty to something that is usually considered ugly.  Participating in the Community Can Program shows your community that you care about and are participating in creating a more beautiful, clean and healthy community.

Here are a few examples of what some other communities have done.

The Community Can Program Offers the Following:

Outdoor Garbage Can Program:

Most cities, communities, or groups already have garbage cans in places throughout their areas of play and work. In almost all these areas you rarely can find, or see where the garbage cans are.  What we do is offer a program where we paint the cans that are there already and add more cans if needed.  We do this in a unique way by incorporating the group of people (children) that are already there to paint the cans; we bring in a team leader to walk you through the program. The team leader will walk through your community with your group and take photos of what in your community is beautiful to you as a group. Then taking the ideas you collected from photos you will paint it on the cans. Any extra cans will be added at the same time.  All supplies and visual guidance will be included with the program.

Inside Garbage Cans:
The idea behind the indoor painted garbage cans is different because of what will be collected in them.  Each group will decide what they will collect in their can based on who as a group they have decided to collect stuff for. Example: would be the Food Bank, Hats and Mittens for the homeless, bottles and cans turned to money for a non-profit or charity group.  Once they have decided they can begin the walk the neighborhood process, take photos, paint cans, and collect their stuff and turn it in.  We supply the visual team leader, supplies and program guidance.

How Can You Become Involved?

This program only covers material cost and visual reps to go in and walk the group through the program. All marketing, advertising, networking, and excellent pricing for supplies is a joint venture of Visual Idea Centre. Wheeler Design Consultants and any of the visual supply companies used to design and paint the cans, or sponsors that support this program.

There are two ways to become involved:

First if you are a city, community, or group book a Community Can Rep for your area.  Set a date for your Program, and plan out a budget. How many cans do you have, and will you be adding anymore.  Don't forget to access the how to get sponsors to help pay for your program, ask your Rep for details.

Second: SPONSOR A CAN: Your name goes on the bottom of the can, and listed as a sponsor for the group you choose to sponsor.

Each time you sponsor a can you choose the group you want to sponsor, and all the money will go towards paying for your groups Community Can Program. Any extra money after their Community Can Program has been paid for will go directly back to the group that was being sponsored. All groups must first be registered in a Community Can Program and have made the financial commitment to the program to be able to access the sponsor program.
